Courtney Wood
Managing Director
Courtney Wood has spent twenty years as a finance and consulting executive delivering "bottom line" results including developing revenue generating strategies, selling/building business, identifying expense reducing opportunities, planning efforts to achieve expected results, and leading staff to produce results.
In 2001, Ms. Wood founded Wood & Associates, Inc., a business creation and transformation consultancy working with large corporations, entrepreneurs, R&D enterprises and investor groups. Her experience spans a variety of industries including financial services, healthcare, knowledge management.
Ms. Wood also served Chief Strategist for and co-founder of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young's Center for Enterprise Creation where she developed and managed a new "incubator" service line dedicated to defining and launching new "connected economy" enterprises. Ms. Wood acted as early stage venture capitalist with respect to "sweat equity" investment decisions made by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young ("CGEY"); and filled "surrogate" executive and/or board member roles for entrepreneurial ventures and potential corporate spin-outs. Ms. Wood joined CGEY in 1999 as a Senior Manager in the firm's Financial Services eCommerce practice. In this capacity, Courtney led two major projects. One involved the global "eRe-engineering" of one of world's largest financial services companies. Ms. Wood managed a team of up to 35 individuals identifying opportunities and defining solutions to lower operating costs by approximately $500 million and increase employee satisfaction and productivity. Ms. Wood also led and managed a financial services thought leadership development effort which produced "eQuest: An FSI eTransformation Framework," a white paper regarding the implications of the eAge on financial services companies relative to their strategic alternatives, corresponding future state operating models, and the initiatives required to close the gaps.
Prior to joining CapGemini Ernst & Young, Ms. Wood held senior management positions at Andersen Consulting's financial services strategy practice and KPMG Peat Marwick's banking and investment services group. Before entering the consulting field, Ms. Wood was an investment banking and commercial lending analyst for Thomson McKinnon Securities and Norwest Corporation, respectively.
Ms. Wood earned her M.B.A. from Columbia Graduate School of Business and her B.A. in Economics from DePauw University
