David Rupert
Group Managing Director

David Rupert has more than twenty-five years of experience in corporate executive and consulting roles. Over the course of his career, Mr. Rupert has:

  • Managed the acquisition, merger and integration process for five separate organizations; combined revenues of over US$1 billion
  • Achieved revenue and profit growth for five consecutive years in excess of 15%
  • Instituted Quality Process as business management requirement for improved customer retention, elimination of redundancy and higher quality work product
  • Created national account sales organizations with direct sales reps and telemarketing representatives; groups accounted for 35% of revenue
  • Developed and managed international presence and operations for several organizations
  • Managed pre-Chapter 11 activities to maintain high levels of customer base, employee morale, cash flow and banking relationships
  • Created customer retention programs including Advisory councils, speaking engagements, recognition events, annual surveys and new product focus groups.
Mr. Rupert has served as Vice President of Management Services at IKON Office Solutions, responsible for their outsourcing businesses. Prior to his role at IKON, Mr. Rupert was Chief Development Officer of Uniscribe Professional Services, a $70-million roll-up company that offers digital document management services, off-site facility management outsourcing and reprographics.

Mr. Rupert also served as President/COO and then CEO of HQ Global Workplaces from 1999 through January 2002. HQ Global Workplaces is the world's largest provider of fully serviced office space and business support services. With 475 locations, including 75 franchise locations, throughout the Americas and Europe, HQ Global Workplaces offers infrastructure, people and technology to empower a business virtually anywhere. HQ Global Workplaces was created through a roll-up of 40 separate companies over a five-year period, achieving annual revenues in excess of $500 million and employing 2,300 individuals.

Prior to joining HQ Global Workplaces, Mr. Rupert was President of Pitney Bowes Business Services, a division of Pitney Bowes that he started in 1987. This $600 million unit served clients in more than 1,000 locations and was the fastest growing division of the company in the mid 1990's. It represented the first entry for Pitney Bowes to provide a complete business solution for a variety of outsourced services, including mail, copy center, and fax management; records and information management; high-volume print disaster recovery; and document services. He joined Pitney Bowes in 1982 and moved through a number of roles prior to the start of Business Services.

In his earlier career, Mr. Rupert was a management consultant with Ayers Whitmore, a New York general management consulting firm. He was also a staff assistant in the U.S. Senate, a Director in a Community Mental Health Agency, and a VISTA volunteer.

Mr. Rupert earned his A.B. degree from Georgetown University and his M.P.P.M. from Yale School of Management. He serves on an advisory board for Smooth Engine, Inc, has served on the Board of Directors of Stamford United Way and held a three-year term on the Association of Yale Alumni Advisory Board.
