Kira C. Mendez

Kira Mendez has more than twenty years of strategy consulting and management experience, with an exemplary track record helping clients to capture growth opportunities, optimize profit potential, integrate marketing and operational strategies, and manage organizational transition.

In 1999, Ms. Mendez founded Kairos Consulting, a strategic advisory firm for owners, investors and managers facing the challenges and opportunities of dramatic growth. Previously, Ms. Mendez was Principal of The Lucas Group, a strategy boutique for middle market companies and private equity firms, where she was a member of the senior management team with responsibility for business development, client relationships, and professional staff management. Ms. Mendez also served as Manager, Corporate Marketing for Millipore Corporation, where she managed strategic planning, marketing training, information center and marketing database initiatives for Millipore's divisions. She began her consulting career as a Manager of Alliance Consulting Group, a strategy firm combining traditional strategy development with organizational change methodologies.

Ms Mendez's experience spans a variety of industries, including consumer products (consumer health care, health and beauty, confectionery, apparel, home decor), health care (medical and diagnostic products and services, acute care services, primary care services, home health care, hospital staffing), general and industrial manufacturing and distribution, financial systems and services, software, technology, professional services, academic institutions and not-for-profit organizations.

Prior to her consulting career, Ms. Mendez held engineering design positions at United Technologies Hamilton Standard Division, working on military and commercial designs for helicopter and other aircraft jet engine controls.

Ms. Mendez earned her M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and her M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with a concentration in Automatic Control Systems. She earned her B.S. in Electrical Engineering with honors from Lehigh University, where she graduated Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu, and was a General Motors Scholar.

Ms. Mendez also has a distinguished record of volunteer leadership. At Lehigh University, she serves on the Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Corporate Advisory Council, and the Industrial Advisory Board for the Engineering Minor, and previously served on the College of Engineering Advisory Council. At United Way of Morris County, she is Executive Board Chair, former Campaign Chair, founded the Women's Leadership Initiative, and received the Gold Award for volunteerism. She is also a past board president of Volunteers for Morris County.
